Overview
The SysTest Labs Voting Test Specialists (VTS) within the Compliance Services Line of Business (LOB) provide day-to-day execution of the tasks necessary that support the operations and delivery of software and hardware test engineering services to product manufacturers operating within the regulated voting industry.  The Specialists ensure that voting testing services meet rigorous federally defined standards for voting systems, which enables the company to certify that the voting system satisfies the Voting System Standards (2002) or the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (2005) and that related system functionality operates in accordance with design requirements and specifications.  VTS report directly to a Manager who administratively supervise the specialist, as well as assign them to a Project Manager assigned to specific vendor accounts.

Job Specification

• Testers must have a working knowledge of Windows including the XP, XP Embedded, CE, 2000, 98, NT, 95 and 3.x on the WinTel platform (Microsoft operating system and Intel micro processor).  Experience with other operating systems is a plus.
• Experience as an End User with any computer based voting system is a plus.
• The necessary skills required for this position include experience and understanding of the Microsoft Office Tools with a special emphasis on Excel.
• The Tester does not have to have any experience or knowledge of programming languages.  It would be beneficial if the candidate has some basic concepts of the Software Development Life Cycle, although these concepts will be taught to all software testing employees.
• Detail-oriented and focused.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work with vendors as well as state and federal public officials.
• Understanding of quality assurance methodologies including software and/or hardware engineering.
• Ability to present themselves in a professional manner at all times.
• Ability to understand and demonstrate to SysTest Labs’ clients our ability to meet their needs and expectations.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of CMMI, IEEE and ISO not required, but beneficial.
• 3+ years of technical experience in software quality assurance/quality control, test engineering or software development and engineering.
• A technical 4-year degree in computer science, computer information systems, or engineering is recommended, but substantial test engineering experience can be substituted. Duties and Responsibilities
• The job description of the VTS is being operationally defined in terms of the SysTest Labs Standard Lab Procedures (SLP) required to perform and execute the job.

Reporting

• Reports directly to the Voting ITA Software Manager
• Working Conditions
• Work on-site at SysTest Labs facility in Denver, Colorado
• Hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Regular full time employee (FSLA Exempt)
• Overtime work is occasionally required
• Moderate travel is required
