Job Description: This position reports directly to the site EHS/Facilities Manager. Plans, directs and coordinates activities related to design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures and other facilities in an industrial environment. Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operation, inspection and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and applicable regulations. Directs maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery. Prepares bid sheets and associated drawings for construction and facilities modifications. Tests new installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings; reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs; inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develop and maintain all preventive maintenance programs. Identify, develop, plan and implement all facilities related capital projects. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports.
Required Skills: Minimum of 10 years manufacturing/facilities engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years supervision experience. Must be conversant with specialized systems such as HVAC, Chilled Water Systems, Condenser Water Systems, Pumps, Fire Protection Systems, Security and Access Control Systems, AHU units, and Controls. Effective troubleshooting and analytical skills and ability to manage complex and high-risk technical project under pressure. Must have working knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE, UBS, ASME, and NEC. Must have effective written and verbal communications skills and be able to effectively use Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and project management programs. Must have a track record of successful project management and experience in working in a team environment. Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong planning/organization and time management skills. Six Sigma training is a plus.
Required Education (including Major): Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Masters in Engineering or MBA a plus.
